Focal Point was founded in 2002 around a specific idea: specification-grade architectural lighting should be manufactured close to the specifiers and engineers who use it. That meant building a factory in Chicago, hiring application engineers instead of outsourcing lighting calcs, and publishing honest photometric files for every family.
Two decades later, the operating story still runs on those choices. Every luminaire ships from the 36th Street plant. Every IES file is tested in-house. Every controls protocol is documented before the CSI specification is released. The brand deliberately declines to chase consumer or horticultural lighting markets — architectural commercial is what we do.
